"How many a man has thrown up his hands
at a time when a little more effort,
a little more patience
would have achieved success"
-Elbert Hubbard-
Patience... waiting... seeking...
When walking through a small town
I saw from a distance a buisness man waiting
for a street car on the corner.
Most people may not find this facinating.
I did.
I was compelled and inspired to do something with that scene
How many times in life we wait.
We wait in line at the grocery store,
for the plane to take off,
or to simply use the restroom.
On a bigger scale
We wait for job offers,
for lab results,
the right person to come along,
our bank account to fill up to a certain number.
Terminally ill to pass,
expecting mothers to give life.
We wait.
Sometimes patiently,
sometimes not.
Waiting is a part of what we do.
Sometimes we don't wait when we should,
sometimes we wait too long.
Sometimes we need to take an initiative, not to wait.
We know that success can mean doing the small things
everyday we are given a chance to work at reaching our potential.
Where is your happiness?
Are you still waiting for it...
or are you making it happen?
How can you best serve the world today.
What are meant to be?
Are you waiting for the answer...
seek, find, do.
I chose to title this piece Number 9
Waiting on street car 9.
9 happens to be a number that symbolizes patience.
It also represents inspiration and the perfection of ideas
it is the number of achievement and harmony.
"if people knew how hard I worked to get my mastery,
it wouldn't seem so wonderful at all."
Michelangelo
